Dear residents and friends.
The last big storm that we had, our cul-de-sac at Nocturne Court had completely no electricity for more than 6 hours. The reason apparently was a defective transformer provided by Pepco.
This is not the first time that this has happened. We have been in our home 20 years, and very often thisoccurs .It is a monopoly and a problem.
Pepco came and repaired for hours and 5 trucks were in the cul-de sac all night long with big street lights.
Here are the SIDE EFFECTS OF WHAT HAPPENED.
Our cul-de-sac was not cleaned properly from the snow.
Appliances were damaged example;heating equipment, faxes and others. Not to mention our security alarm, which battery went dead and had to get a new one.
I think that we should find a way to hold Pepco responsible for these expenses, especially when the transformer was defective.Aren't they supposed to set the equipment before it is installed.
One very important thing I learned is; if you have loved ones that are on life support, or are seniors ,toddlers who can suffer without the heat, contact Pepco and put your name on the emergency list. You will have priority above everyone else.
